I came across a 5s being cleared to make way for the this version. I was walking about 5 miles per day and decided to try it. The first week I had it was fantastic, it was so comfortable and no foot issues. Then it developed a squeak on the left shoe. Took it back got another pair, no squeak and 0ver 1000 miles and six months later I just purchased a new 2011 model. These feel better than last years, they appear to be lighter and lace really well. I bought them and last night walked 8 miles in a bit over 2 hrs with no issues almost straight out of the box. I usually do not pay retail for any of my shoes or boots but I will for these. I have been a diabetic for 17 yrs, have been "big" my entire 51 yrs of life and am working to reduce my weight and my dependence on meds to maintain my A1C and BP. Since middle of last year I have dropped 50 pounds and wanting to drop another 50 to get to 225.Thanks for developing a shoe that allows me to walk distance that are beneficial to my health.

I bought this shoe after extensive research and the recommendation of a podiatrist. I did the on line research after receiving the recommendation by the DPM. I had an injury and Orthoscopic Surgery on one knee and was careful about re introducing running. All of the ratings online were favorable, but I was still skeptical. I found an online retailer and ordered my shoes. After 4 weeks, I found that any residual knee and ankle pain was gone, in fact after the first few runs I felt no pain. I am not a marathon runner, and I am in my early 60's. My evaluation was based upon a distance of 4 to 5 miles per day. What I noticed was a absence of pain after the first run, and I have not had any residual pain afterward. I have increased by run from 4 to 5 miles. This shoe outperformed my previous running shoes. I would highly recommend to anyone who needs additional support.

These sneakers were recommended to me by my friend who is an avid runner and sales rep for a running store out in AZ. While meeting him this summer, he noticed my feet were overpronating while wearing my tennis shoes. I explained I have extremely flat feet and thus he recommended the Beasts. It greatly helped to find out about a sneaker that is made for those who have flat feet.
I have to say that these sneakers are very comfortable and my feet feel healthy and happy. Its like a night and day difference between my Adidas Barricades. My feet don't feel sore after walking or running and my knees don't get minor shin splints. Definitely going to be wearing these for some time. The only gripe I have with sneaker is the insole or sockliner. Not sure why Brooks built a nice stable shoe for motion control (flat feet) but used an insole that has a medium arch in it. This can be replaced with an orthotic but the company may want to improve the insole in the next version.
